Suzy is a lifelong educator and artist. She holds a bachelor of science degree in history and political science from Central Michigan University and a master of education degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Houston. Growing up in the countryside of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, she lived many miles from the nearest town. Because of this, she spent much of her youth exploring and admiring the forests around her home. Suzy enjoys traveling, especially when it gives her opportunities to discover new flora and fauna. She has taught students of all ages, from three-year-olds to adults, in settings ranging from traditional classrooms to small-group language-learning classes. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed exploring a variety of teaching environments and styles. In addition to teaching, Suzy has worked as an editor in Washington, D.C. A mother of two, she loved raising her children with an appreciation for nature and frequently brought them to the Upper Peninsula for visits.
